God is love, and it is a joy to speak of that love and how it is shed to all people and His children in particular. But, God is a God of judgment also and we best not forget it. In the Old Testament book of Habakkuk the prophet faced a similar situation to today. Evil was everywhere and Habakkuk asked God, “O Lord, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? . . . Spoiling and violence are before me; therefore the law is powerless, and judgment never goes forth.” Then God answers and says to “wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

The message is clear, God is not slack with His judgment and it is sure to come. No society in all of history has survived which has sacrificed its children and embraced homosexuality. Not only have we, in this country, sacrificed 55 million children to the false idol gods of freedom, pleasure and entertainment, but evil sexual freedoms of choice have become so rampant that it is becoming illegal to say anything against the practice. It is interpreted as a hate crime. Not only is this hard evidence to the fact that God’s judgment is near, science itself is warning that time is short. For many years there have been warnings of major earthquakes on the west coast and now more recently there are rumblings in the Yellowstone park volcano which, when it goes, science says, will decimate one third of the country and will be 1000 times bigger than Mt St Helens. And we haven’t even addressed the threat of nuclear destruction at the hands of extremists. Virtually everyone, religious leaders, politicians and scientists, agree that all of these will happen ~ it’s just a matter of time.

After God gave Habakkuk His answer he said, “When I heard, my body trembled; my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entered my bones, and I trembled in myself”. For those who believe in the love and judgment of God, it is time to prepare for the end. Habakkuk concludes his prophecy with, “The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like deer’s feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high hills”. Are you ready?

Do you know the end of time is near?
Be ready when He comes.
Can you live and die in sin’s career?
Be ready when He comes . . . (Be Ready When He Comes)
