Have you ever wondered why the miraculous power of God is not as evident today as it was 2000 years ago. Particularly in view of scriptures like Romans 8:24,25 where it proclaims that we have hope in Christ for the impossible.

Clearly the Lord has said that His power is available to those who are obedient and have faith. So, why is it not evident? Well, one thing is sure, it is not the Lord’s fault…and that leaves a lack of obedience and faith on our part. It doesn’t take a highly educated theologian to understand that. In fact the Bible is clear. Even a simple fisherman or carpenter can grasp the power of the true gospel (maybe they have an advantage, not being incumbered with mans reasoning and all). A simple faith is what it takes and faith comes from reading the Word of God. The question is ‘How bad do we want it?’

Twice in my life I have found myself in a desperate situation with absolutely no hope of escape, no light at the end of the tunnel. And yet, out of the Word (written and living) came a measure of faith that allowed the Lord to perform a miracle of deliverance. The power of God, that He offers to man, superseded even natural laws, and it is for those who totally, completely and persistently believe. Job was one of those. He said, “Though he slay me yet will I trust Him.”

“For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope. for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But is we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” (Romans 8; 24, 25) The power of God is available to all who diligently seek Him.

But we never can prove the delights of His love,
Until all on the alter we lay;
For the favor He shows and the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey…(Trust and Obey)
